On September 24th the Voorburgs Vocaal Ensemble can be seen and heard in the Dorpskerk in the town of Kethel. Since the beginning of the 1990s, the VVE has been one of the regular guest choirs in the series ‘Avondmuziek’ (Evening music) held in this church. The VVE has enjoyed singing in the Dorpskerk so much that it was chosen as the location for recording the CD Puisque tout Passe in 2005.
The VVE will perform once again in this series in 2017. The program will include a varied selection of a capella pieces: works by Johannes Brahms and his Dutch contemporaries Verheij and Verhulst, as well as the present-day Latvian composers Rihards Dubra and Ēriks Ešenvalds.
The program will also include a performance of two intermezzi on both the soprano and alto recorder by the young and talented Dante Jongerius, who will play pieces by Jacob van Eyck and Telemann.
The concert in the Dorpskerk in Kethel (address: Noordeinde 10, 3121 Schiedam) will start at 19:00 and last approximately one hour.
