Passion in Music
16 April, 20:15
Event Navigation
This concert will take you through different aspects of the Passion of Jesus. You will hear music of lament that cries out for help in great need, music that tells of disappointment and the longing for redemption. But also music that expresses confidence and joy at the promise of better times ahead. You will hear Gregorian chant, music from the 16th and 17th centuries and choral music by Canadian composer Eleanor Daley. We will also perform works by Bruckner and Liszt, as well as relatively unknown music by the Czech composer Tucapski.
The young violinist Dasha Serck will tell the story in her own way with her violin, and Marijke Verbree will carry you away with her spoken words in this concert ‘PASSIO IN MUSICA’.
Admission free. Optional donation afterwards.
